What This Calculator Does

Calculate food quantities for events by guest count and duration.

It combines Number of Guests, Event Duration, Meal Type, Include Dessert to estimate Total Protein, Appetizer Pieces, Total Sides.

Formula & Method

Quantities are per-guest multipliers by meal type. Totals use Q=Guests\cdot q_{pp} (and for appetizers-only, Pieces=Guests\cdot rate_{hr}\cdot Hours).

Notation used in the formulas: R = Total Protein; x_{1} = Number of Guests; x_{2} = Event Duration; x_{3} = Meal Type; x_{4} = Include Dessert.

Method summary: inputs are normalized to consistent units, core equations are evaluated, then secondary values are derived and rounded for display.

Use this calculator for quick scenario analysis. Start with baseline values, change one driver at a time, and compare how sensitive the results are to each input shown above.
